Awards Highlights
The Sustainability in Prisons Project (SPP) has received national and regional recognition for its innovative work. In 2015, SPP was named a Semifinalist in the Innovations in American Government Awards by Harvard Kennedy School’s Ash Center, following a Bright Idea Award in 2010 from the same organization.
SPP co-founder Dan Pacholke received an Environmental Protection Award from the Rotary Club of Olympia in 2013, while co-founder Nalini Nadkarni was honored with the William Julius Wilson Award for the Advancement of Social Justice in 2015.
In 2012, the Stafford Creek Corrections Center Sustainability Team was recognized with an Innovation Team Award by Washington Corrections for outstanding program leadership.
